🎥 The history of Call of Duty (2003 – 2019)

Today is the day for the #historyof! I have sent the WhatsApp Gaming Newsletter today, that’s why. 🙂 As Call of Duty is another title that will be launched in the next months, I thought it will be nice to share this video with you, a compilation of small Call of Duty gameplays from 2003 until today.

🏆A Better Mousetrap 🏆 Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands #Trophy

Game: Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands
PVP: Ghost War
Game Community: Ghost Recon Network
Company: UBISOFT
PlayStation Store: Deluxe Edition

In my previous Wildlands article about the Cluster Bomber trophy – kill 7 enemies with a single C4, I was mentioning A Better Mousetrap as a pretty difficult trophy to get, as you will need to find 7 enemies one next to each other, in a 5m radius, plant a mine and kill them all. I have seen videos with players that succeded to do this using lure and flashbangs.

Crazy. I have tried a couple of times in the same spot I took Cluster Bomber but it felt impossible.

It turns out that the trophy is pretty simple to take, but you need to have patience. I discovered that the Koani Airport (NW corner of the map) will always have sicarios on patrol. Alone. And some snipers. You will need a sedan (or a pick-up) and a mini-van (do not use heavy cars), and 7 sicarios to grab and stow them into the cars. Use also the trunk of one car.

The entire action will take about 15 to 20 minutes. Be patient also when you will arrange the cars one next to the other. The mine radius is only 5m. I failed once and saved the video sequence also. I will leave you with this: you will not need any friend to help you boost this trophy, as well as you will not need some sophisticated gaming skills. Play stealth.

Enjoy the movie and have fun taking it!

Breakpoint: I thought I have bought a Ghost Recon series game, and all I got was a Division DLC

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint was my bday present. Hehe. I have played so much Wildlands, somehow I wanted to be one of the first players who will see and have fun in Breakpoint’s Pacific island open-world of Auroa (anyway, there were invites sent to PSN accounts who didn’t preorder the game, nor bought something from Ubisoft).

Funny thing, after 30 min of playing Breakpoint BETA on solo mode and 1h in co-op, I decided to go for a refund, the main reason being the mechanics of the character’s body movements. The way he moves around the objects and interacts with the environment. The way loot is marked on the ground. The way Breakpoint feels like Division.

And I don’t like that cover shooter genre mechanics. I have tried both Division 1 and 2 in the early stage for being a gaming genre promoters and having all that success. But only to understand the genre. I choose not to buy Division and play Wildlands for years exactly for that freedom offered.

I love the Breakpoint’s graphics, the new cinematic sequences (melees, heals, carrying bodies, etc), the open world, and the sound. Great job! But I cannot deal (at least yet) with that robotic one-side-at-the-time sprint, or the way the games steals your character to put it correctly in the cover.

See this video and tell me your opinion in the comments.

Imho, I have not played a Ghost Recon series game. I have played a Division DLC placed in Auroa. Unfortunately, Breakpoint is my first pre-order refund. I will be back on this game when PVP will be available, to see if Ghost War also changed. And I will reorient to a standard edition, or wait for the first discount – Black Friday is pretty close. 🙂

Big disappointment.

🏆Cluster Bomber 🏆 Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands #Trophy

Game: Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands
PVP: Ghost War
Game Community: Ghost Recon Network
Company: UBISOFT
PlayStation Store: Deluxe Edition

There are two trophies on Wildlands that needs a special approach. I am talking about Cluster Bomber – you need to kill 7 enemies with a single C4 blast, and A Better Mousetrap – you need to kill 7 enemies with a single mine. Tough ones but at least there are not collectibles…

I understand that both trophies can be boosted with friends, stowing enemies in cars and blowing them up using a C4 or a mine. 😀 I got Cluster Bomber without boosting it – it can be provoked in a specific story mission, see the video, but A Better Mousetrap looks and feels! impossible.

Here is how to get Cluster Bomber trophy, the location being offered by the first objective of the Deserter main mission located in the Montuyoc Province. There are exactly 7 enemies you need to lure around the one marked differently and kill them all with a C4 like in the video.

Ubisoft anounced « Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint – BETA » from 5th – 8th September!

In the PlayStation Store, there is a 28GB Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint – BETA app that can be downloaded for free if you preordered the game that will be launch on October 4th (October 1st for preorders). This is the first good news.

The second one is that I have received a redeem code for playing the BETA on another PSN account that I was using as a Ghost War second account to play with my Spanish friends. That’s odd, but it’s worth a shot to search for an email from Ubisoft, with a Breakpoint BETA redeem code.

Search for a subject something like “Ghost PSN-account, here is your Beta key!“.

Fingers crossed! 🙂

As far as I understood, the progress of the campaign will not count to the final game, but please take a closer look at this paragraph from its PS Store description:

ENJOY A TRUE SOCIAL EXPERIENCE
Team up with your friends and experience shared progression from the main campaign to PvP. Explore rich end-game content including four-player raids.

It will be a great weekend. 🙂

September’s Free PS Plus Games

SIE published the name of the games that will be available for free to all PlayStation Plus members. All they have to do is to add the games to the Library and they will be able to play them anytime, as long as a PS Plus subscription will be active on that account.

Download links:
Batman: Arkham Knight (2015)
Darksiders III (2018)

If Batman is a Warner Bross title known all over the world (I was impressed that it has no more, nor less, than 16 DLCs with trophies, and also pretty difficult to take the platinum one), Darksiders III will place you in a fantasy setup and will offer the role of Fury and her quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins. The base game has 50 trophies (also 3 DLCs with trophies) and some of them depend on the game’s difficulty level.

Both games will be available for free starting September 3rd, this is the last day to download the free games of August 2019: WipEout Omega Collection and Sniper Elite 4.

🏆 Pull! 🏆 Ghost Recon Wildlands #Trophy

Game: Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands
PVP: Ghost War
Game Community: Ghost Recon Network
Company: UBISOFT
PlayStation Store: Deluxe Edition

One of the games I have also decided to finish (as in taking also all the trophies) is Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. I have a month until Breakpoint will be launched (see also 🔗 Ghost Recon Rewards Program), and I have already taken most of the trophies which means this game’s days are numbered.

One of the trophies I want future trophy hunters to know how to boost it is 🏆 Pull! – Shot an enemy chopper out of the air with a mortar. It is not necessarily a hard-to-get trophy, but if you want to take it even from the beginning of the game there is a way to “boost” it.

The location I have found and also used in the video is situated in the center south of Pucara. Here are the exact coordinates: Lat: -19,2747 | Long: -64,0087. At the location, you’ll find a mine and a side-mission with a helicopter that needs to be stolen, being guarded by 5 sicarios.

To take the trophy you must fail the side-mission, and send the mortar after you will hear that “Their LT is trying to run” line. Hit R1, choose Mortar, point it at the nose of the helicopter, call in the artillery, and wait for the trophy to pop-up. 🙂

So? All good? 🙂

🐿️ Scrat from Ice Age got its own game!

And it will be available on PlayStation 4 starting with October 18th (there is no link available at the moment in the PlayStation Store, but you will find it on CD, at ~40 euros in Europe, or $40 in the USA). The game’s name is Ice Age Scrat’s Nutty Adventure (website) and its trailer was published yesterday by PlayStation on Youtube.

Looks fun, isn’t it? 🙂

🎥 The History of STAR WARS Battlefront (1982 – 2019)

Today is Friday, the newsletter day (about gaming on PS4, delivered on WhatsApp), but also the day for a story about one of the games I am playing. After I became an EA Access member, I have discovered STAR WARS™ Battlefront™ II, a Battlefield V-like-game in a Star Wars setup. The graphics are so good I included it in my list of the games that I want to finish this year, and I have already taken 28 of 41 trophies, but I switched to Wildlands for a couple of days. 😀

This is a video I have found on Youtube with sequences from 31 Battlefront games since 1982. A lifetime. You will find the list below. Enjoy!

🔎 A way out (2016) | What Do You Need to Know Before You Buy It #Review

Game: Brothers: A Way Out
Developer: Hazelight Studios
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Usefull: Trophies list
Soundtrack: Youtube Download
PlayStation Store: Download

A Way Out is an adventure game played from a third-person perspective, developed by Hazelight Studios and published on PlayStation Store by Electronic Arts in March 2018. It was directed by the same Josef Fares, a Swedish-Lebanese film director and game designer, after Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (video content and review).

The game costs around 25€, but you will find it part of the EA Access also, a good deal that will open a treasure chest that will try to ruin your real life. 🙂 A way out is a Sunday game. That means you can play it with your chum on a couch on a rainy morning, or find someone online who loves to play a good story, and you’ll get a platinum trophy to talk about it.

📖 Story

The story of the game is taking us back in 1972 when a guy named Vincent Moretti is sent to prison for fraud and murder. In jail, he meets Leo Caruso (voice-over by Fares brother), who has now been inside for 6 months for grand theft, assault, and armed robbery. The game begins with Vincent and Leo trying to escape from the prison, and ends in the United States after both visited Mexico to finish the plot.

There are a lot of adventures for Vincent and Leo to solve in their quest – that started by escaping the prison – to find a common acquaintance. And you can finish the whole story in one day if you want and have normal PS skills. My friend and I have finished the game in 5 hours and 11 minutes, as he already finished the game. He remembered some parts and knew how to save some time for us to finish the game faster.

The game has two endings, depending on some final actions in the game, but it will definitely blow up your expectations. I was lucky. My friend, who already played the game, didn’t say a word and I was totally surprised at the end, as I was finishing Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Another related thing is that A Way Out‘s team, which included some of the former members of Fares’ team for Brothers, wanted to create a cooperative game that is unique and different.

So they came up one more time with a genius idea.

🏆 Gameplay and trophies

A Way Out was designed to be played only in a co-op environment. There are no single-player campaigns or missions, nor other multiplayer types of games. You can play it with a friend online, or at home with two controllers on the same PS console. If you are playing online, just take into consideration that the game is free for one of the players who will download the demo.

For 90% of the actions, both players must interact with some elements of the environment for the story progress or trophies. The interactions might be turn-based or simultaneously, which makes the game more interesting and funny.

This situation applies to the trophies as well. Some of the trophies are unmissable, but there are trophies like 🏆 Home Run – you will be given the option to bat some balls and you will need to interact with the action one time for each player to take the trophy, or like 🏆 Mayday! – you will need to change the character also, as Vincent cannot be used to earn this trophy because he will not enter the helicopter.
